vacation

The word "vacation" is supposed to imply fun, rest, relaxation, and the like. All it implies to me right now is work, lack of sleep, and stress. We vacated from our home in Iowa to return home to Michigan. I knew it wouldn't be incredibly relaxing as we now have two young sons, one who never sits still and the other who always wants to eat. But it has been more draining than I anticipated. We have bounced back and forth between my sister's house in Tustin and my in-laws house in Newaygo. Staying in Tustin has been the best. Staying in Newaygo has been much more difficult. I already do not look forward to coming back for Christmas. And yet our trip was not so much to get away as it was to reconnect with our families and to show off our new addition. Mission accomplished...sort of. Maybe when we get back, we will be able to relax again.
