saying goodbye

Last Sunday, we said goodbye to our church family, many close friends, and some of our favorite relatives. It was a special time as we got to share with everybody where we were going and what we were going to do. We felt very blessed to have so many people show their appreciation and care for us. It was hard saying goodbye. While we will return and visit, it will never be quite the same. But we will continue those friendships and we will begin new ones. Friendship is such a great gift from God. We may have friendships that last only for a season and some that last a lifetime. We may have friends that we see nearly everyday and some that we see once a year or so. But each friend and each friendship is special. Each one adds something of value to our lives. I thank God for the many friends I have made over the years and I look forward to making new ones. And the beauty of Heaven is that one day, I will be reunited with all my friends that share my faith in Jesus.
