Contrary to popular opinion, Iowa is much more than just corn fields. Certainly, there are corn fields a plenty, but where we are, there is an abundance of trees as well. Actually, just south of Boone, there is a beautiful wooded state park. On Saturday, despite the cooler weather and strong wind, we enjoyed a hike through the woods on one of the scenic trails in that park. Tonight, while Kendra was enjoying ice cream with a new friend, Javan and I took a back way to Ogden and I marveled at the Michigan-like scenery. I guess the Lord knew it would be hard for us to leave Michigan and put us in a place that very much looks like home...except for all the corn fields.

My friends all mock me for living in IOWA, but it IS gorgeous! I love Ledges - it is so nice in the summer. Plus we're "out in the country" enough that the stars are beautiful! Corn fields are great places to stargaze...
We're excited you guys are here! I'm praying that the transition will be a good one for you guys!
